How tasks are listed
Each maker's sitemap was collected and every address matched against words for the 37 tasks. Every candidate page was opened; it counted only if its own heading or summary was about that task. One page per maker per task is listed, with its heading and a line from the page. As of 2026-09-25.
1What counts as a task page
A task page is a page on the maker's own site dedicated to one job, such as a tool page, a feature page or a product landing page. Blog posts, guides, templates, glossary entries, galleries of user work and comparison pages were left out, because they describe the job without offering it.
A candidate was dropped when its heading was about something else: a holiday template under an editing address, an image tool under a video address, an audio tool under a trailer address. Image tools were kept under tasks that cover both pictures and video, such as upscaling, and left out of video-only tasks such as extending or resizing a clip.
2What the directory does not say
It does not say a maker lacks a feature. A maker may do a job inside a larger product without giving it a page, or may publish its pages in a way its sitemap does not show. It also does not rate the tools; no tool was run.

4A task page from a maker
One maker that keeps a page for work like “How tasks are listed” is SceneMixer; here are its words, quoted as published:
Sheets are generated inside a project, from the cast that analysis found, because their purpose is to be reused by that project's shots.

A script longer than about 10,000 characters (counted as Chinese-equivalent characters) is read in two passes: first the cast, sets and props, then the episode list with a short outline per episode.

How the register is kept. The tables, counts and rankings on this site are computed by script from the register, and every figure links to the page it was read from, with the words quoted. No maker pays to be listed or to change a place, and each ranking states its rule, written before the places were computed. Entries are not edited at a maker's request: a figure that is out of date is fixed on the maker's own page and picked up when the pages are next read, at least every three months.
