AI video production, one task at a time

A directory of 37 production tasks, from script writing and storyboards to lip sync, dubbing and trailers, and of the 24 AI video tool makers that keep a page of their own for each. Every page listed was found on the maker's own site, opened and dated. As of 2026-09-25.

1The tool chest

One drawer per group, top to bottom in production order. Each compartment is a task, with the number of tool makers that keep a page of their own for it; open one for the pages and the makers' own words.

3Why start from the task

Most people looking for an AI video tool know the job before they know the product: they need a trailer, a dub, a storyboard or a voice. Tool makers answer that with pages named after the job. This directory reads those pages across 24 makers and sets them side by side, task by task.

A page is not a guarantee of quality or of a separate product; it is the maker saying, on its own site, that it does this job. The quotes on each task page are the makers' own words.

4What the directory shows

Generation tasks are the most widely covered: text to video, image to video and anime style each have pages at 16, 15 and 15 makers. The rarest are video from reference images, extending a clip, relighting and resizing a video, with 4 makers each. The makers with the most task pages are general creative suites; drama apps keep fewer.

5Pick a drawer

Start from a task if you know the job, a group if you are planning a whole stage of production, or a tool maker if you already use one and want to see what else it covers.

6A task page from a maker

One maker that keeps a page for work like “AI Drama Tools” is SceneMixer; here are its words, quoted as published:

SceneMixer turns a novel into a watchable short-drama series in one pipeline: upload the novel (Chinese or English) → AI extracts characters, scenes, and an episode-by-episode structure → generates consistent character and scene art → writes storyboard scripts → renders video segment by segment (16:9 by default, 9:16 in one setting) → composites full episodes.

An AI short drama is a serialized show of 60–120 second vertical episodes whose cast, sets and footage are generated by AI. Making one takes six steps: analyze the script into episodes, lock a consistent cast with reference art, localize for your market, write and edit storyboards, generate each 4–15 second shot, then composite and publish.
